Bishop Challoner School is an independent coeducational Catholic day school in Shortlands, Greater London, for children aged two and a half to eighteen years. The school's head teacher is Mrs Paula Anderson. The school welcomes all and respects all faiths but the Catholic faith is central to its life. The school has a strong reputation as a place where every child is noticed and cared for. Strengths lie in small class sizes and strong academic performance across all ability ranges. The school has repeatedly been praised for outstanding pastoral care. Recent years have seen a continuous programme of improvement to the school buildings and grounds. The senior school is the only Catholic school in the borough of Bromley. Access: train (Shortlands Station) and/or by the 358 and 227 bus or 354 (Foxgrove Road) Fr. Patrick Byrne parish priest of St Edmunds Catholic church in Beckenham in co operation with St Josephs parish in Bromley founded the school on 4 May 1950. It is accommodated in the historic building known as Shortlands House – the oldest building in Shortlands. The school takes its name from Bishop Richard Challoner (1691–1781), Vicar Apostolic of the London District, who was the leading figure in the Roman Catholic Church in England during the 18th century. The site is listed and of particular local interest. The school started as a junior school but quickly grew. In 1956 a senior wing was added. More classrooms and an assembly hall/gymnasium followed in 1963. The Art block was opened in 1968 and another block – now the Junior Block – was opened in 1980. Challoner became co-educational in the Junior School in 1992, later extending into the Senior School. At the same time a Nursery was opened. In recent years the list of site improvements and development has quickened. The Junior school moved to two forms of entry in 2013 to accommodate demand for places.A new sixth form study centre has been opened. The senior school has an impressive record of achieving results in excess of those that might be predicted at age 11 from a pupils SAT scores - particularly impressive given the number of highly selective schools available locally. The School became an independent charity limited by guarantee in December 2013(It was formerly part of the Archdiocese of Southwark). It is governed by a board of Trustees. ==Uniform== ;Senior School *Boys - Navy Blazer with light blue shirt, navy striped tied and black trousers. *Girls - Blue blouse and navy blue skirt. ;Junior School *Boys - Maroon Blazer with white shirt, maroon tie and grey trousers *Girls - grey pinafore dress 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Bishop Challoner School」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
